About

The DRONERESPONDERS Alabama Public Safety Coordination Group establishes a framework for public safety agencies and emergency services organizations across Alabama to collaborate directly with industry, government, and academia through shared expertise and coordinated partnerships.

The primary objectives of the ALGRU are to:

  • Support the education, adoption, and operational use of remotely piloted, uncrewed, and autonomous systems by public safety and emergency service organizations at the state and regional levels, within the bounds of established legal requirements and accepted community standards across Alabama.

  • Increase public awareness and understanding of the value of drones, robotics, and emerging technologies, with a focused effort on outreach to underserved and rural communities throughout the state.

  • Provide a formal mechanism for Alabama state, local, and tribal governments to collaborate directly with industry and academic partners to stimulate innovation, enhance preparedness, and better serve the Whole Community during emergencies, disasters, and times of crisis.
