Adding Drone Safety to Airspace

To Public Safety Agencies:

To ensure the highest safety by clear airspace visibility, consider installing an anti-collision light to all of your drones. NOTE: The green and red navigation lights are NOT anti-collision lights and are not bright enough for manned aircraft to see (day or night).

First, the anti-collision light clearly distinguishes from a bird and gives much more warning of the drone’s presence and gives manned aircraft the ability to avoid a drone. In almost all air collisions between a drone and aircraft, the pilot in manned aircraft were either never seen or see too late to react. None of these drones involved in these air collisions were equipped with anti-collision lights.

For those in law enforcement, when placed on top of the drone, it has been proven not to be seen from the ground and does not interfere with covert operations and by the way, manned helicopters are required to display anti-collision lights at all times.

And as preparing for the new FAA BVLOS Part 108, the airspace is about to become more populated and complex.

Anti-collision lights are inexpensive and can be purchased from many places for between $15 to $50.

Let’s lead the way.

Thanks for your consideration, DRONERESPONDERS
