DRONERESPONDERS and NEST: Advancing UAS Readiness for National Response

This week, DRONERESPONDERS had the privilege of working alongside members of the Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST) in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Our instructors delivered a custom-built, three-day onsite UAS Knowledge Course designed to equip NEST personnel with a comprehensive foundation in unmanned aircraft systems. From FAA Part 107 regulations to operational considerations and airspace management, the curriculum was tailored to meet the unique needs of one of the nation’s most specialized response teams.

This immersive training experience is a prime example of the resources available through the DRONERESPONDERS UAS Initiative for Training & Education (UNITE), which equips public safety professionals with scalable, mission-ready education. Whether you're just launching a UAS program or refining advanced capabilities, UNITE offers flexible pathways to elevate operational excellence.

We extend our sincere thanks to NEST for their hospitality, professionalism, and commitment to innovation. It was an honor to support their journey as they build out a robust UAS program to serve the citizens of the United States.

We look forward to continued collaboration and shared learning as we strengthen national preparedness — one flight at a time.
