[Your organization name] appreciates the opportunity to provide comments on the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on Normalizing Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) Operations. [Your organization name] is dedicated to protecting life, safeguarding property, and enhancing the quality of life for the communities we serve. We [insert 2-3 sentences about who you represent, areas of jurisdiction, how your members use drones, agency responsibilities and use-cases, as appropriate].
We strongly support the objective of streamlining approvals to fly beyond line of sight. However, the proposed rule would impose unnecessarily onerous operating restrictions and compliance costs that would make it challenging or even impossible to conduct the BVLOS operations that many of our members currently fly today. If left unaddressed, we are concerned that the proposal will hinder, rather than support, the ability of [ex: public safety agencies] to use drones in support of public safety. We align with the concerns expressed and solutions offered in the DRONERESPONDERS comment [ID FAA-2025-1908-1364] to this proposed rule.
