Hello,
I hope this message finds you well. K-State is conducting an FAA-sponsored research project focused on the use of UAS in public safety, specifically related to disaster response. The purpose of this research is to enhance support for the public safety community during natural disasters through the effective use of UAS. We seek to understand how UAS are currently utilized in disaster response and explore ways to expand these operations.
Our goal is to identify gaps in equipment, processes, and regulatory constraints that may hinder the effective deployment of UAS during disaster response. To gather valuable insights, we have created a survey to collect key information about your UAS operations. Based on our tests, the survey takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
The data collected will play a crucial role in shaping regulatory policies and procedures, facilitating the future expansion of UAS fleets for disaster response across the nation. If more than one person in your department receives this email, please try to only have one person complete the survey to maintain data accuracy.
We understand that surveys can be inconvenient, but we believe the outcome of this project will be highly beneficial for the public safety community. Your time and assistance are greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
